We use food containers usually on a daily basis after we have prepared a larger batch of food &#8211; we put the food that we don&#8217;t eat immediately, in the container while it is still hot, and we put the container in the fridge after it has cooled a bit. Often we heat the food in the container using the microwave, and we do this especially when we are using the container to bring lunch to work or when we have packaged the food for our kids for lunch at school or at home. So what is the problem here? I&#8217;ll tell you what. Simply put, Bisphenol-A.</p>
<p>For decades the plastic industry has used this compound shortened BPA to create a softer and a more viscous type of plastic that will be easier to make waterproof lids and and durable containers from. Hard plastic will break if you drop it &#8211; not necessarily the first time, but in time. Soft plastic will just deform on impact, and reform after that. Unfortunately there are studies from as early as the early 70&#8242;s that have shown there might be a connection with BPA and health issues such as reproductive problems, different forms of cancer and mutations.  Does this make you want to buy <a href="http://nonbpa.com/containers/bpa-free-food-containers-rubbermaid-7j93-produce-saver-square-food-storage/">food storage containers without BPA</a>? If not, let&#8217;s continue.</p>
<p>There are studies that have shown that children are at a larger risk of suffering from the side effects of BPA. The reason for this is that they often are exposed to a similar dose, but their bodies are much smaller, and their livers are not yet as developed as an adult liver. Liver does most of the work in detoxifying our bodies from BPA. Many times it is the kids that use plastic products, and this put them at an even greater risk. How many times have you told your kid to use a plastic mug for their drinks, because you are afraid of them breaking your drinking glasses when they drop them? How many times your kids have wanted to buy a nicely colored and decorated plastic water bottle? Yes. We encourage our kids to use plastic, where in fact at the same time we are usually poisoning them.</p>
<p>In studies the biggest problems with BPA were usually found when a small repeated dose was used for a long period of time. Plastics that contain BPA leak this toxic compound readily when they are exposed to heat. Food containers are something that we use on a daily basis, and we often put hot food inside them. Also we many times heat the food inside the container, which increases the risk. If you haven&#8217;t already, we recommend that you start using BPA free food containers, water bottles, and everything else that is in contact with your food and drinks. Especially if your kids use it!</p>

Effective as in there are two forms of resveratrol &#8211; cis- and trans- form. The trans is which is active in the human body, and cis- which is not. Red wine contains both of them, but white wine has also been discussed with this in mind.</p>
<p>The problem seems to be that with white wine, the skins of the grapes  are removed during the processing, and these are the parts of the fruits which actually contain the most of their polyphenols and antioxidants. That is why the concentrations in white whine are significantly lower, and it has even been shown that the absorption rates are lower than with red wine. These are all things that you should be aware of before you choose to purchase any <a href="http://resveratrolsupplementssource.com/trans-resveratrol-could-it-be-the-fountain-of-youth/">trans-resveratrol supplements</a> as we don&#8217;t really know yet if our bodies really deal better with only this form of resveratrol.</p>

There are many schools of thought on this, and I think it is important to lean on the facts on this one.</p>
<p><strong>How much resveratrol in red wine?</strong></p>
<p>So you think that getting enough resveratrol means you will be drinking one or two glasses of wine every day? What we first must do is understand how much of resveratrol you should be getting to make a significant difference in your life. Based on many studies, amounts of 100mg to 250mg have been found very helpful with different issues. For example, anti-inflammatory responses were achieved with a 100mg/kg of bodyweight per day dose (Resveratrol prevents the development of abdominal aortic aneurysm through attenuation of inflammation, oxidative stress, and neovascularization. <a href="http://www.atherosclerosis-journal.com/article/S0021-9150(11)00303-0/abstract">Kaneko H, Anzai T, Morisawa M</a>) has been shown to reduce oxidative stress. You&#8217;ll have to understand that for a normal sized male, that dose would be closer to 9g each day.</p>
<p>Red wine varieties generally vary quite a lot on the amount of resveratrol they contain, but to understand the scale of things, a single glass (5-5.5 ounces) of red wine generally contains between 700 micrograms to 1500 micrograms of resveratrol. 1000 micrograms equal one milligram. 1000 milligrams equals one gram. So based on that, a normal male would have to drink up to 2500 ounces of red wine daily. Not going to happen right.</p>
<p>Based on this single study alone we can understand that it is not a bad idea to use a resveratrol supplement even if you are drinking red wine on a daily basis. You won&#8217;t get too much of it if you decide to drink a bottle one night either.  </p>

<p>WHAT IS KRIPALU YOGA AND WHAT IS ITS AIM?</p>

<p>THREE STAGES OF KRIPALU YOGA</p>
<p>Kripalu yoga consists of three stages</p>
<p>In the first stage you have to master the poses or asana, learn the limits of your physical ability.</p>
<p>In the second stage you have to concentrate on holding on to the poses  for longer periods. This will help to build up awareness of the inner  self and concentration.</p>
<p>The third stage involves MEDITATION IN MOTION. At this stage you can  move on from one asana to another effortlessly and spontaneously.</p>

<p>SUPTA BADDHA KONASANA OR GODDESS POSE</p>
<p>This is a reclined hip opening exercise</p>
<p>UTTHITA TRIKONASANA OR EXTENDED TRIANGLE POSE</p>
<p>It will help to open the hamstrings, chest and hips.</p>
<p>BADDHA KONASANA OR COBBLER&#8217;S POSE</p>
<p>Both the normal and the reclined versions are big time hip openers. Support the spine with three folded blankets or a bolster for the reclined version.</p>
<p>SETU BANDHA SARVANGASANA OR BRIDGE POSE</p>
<p>It involves a gentle backbend</p>
<p>MARJARI ASANA OR CAT STRETCH POSE</p>
<p>Begin with the Vajrasana pose and move on to all fours by bending forward and supporting yourself on your palms. It will look like you are aping the cat&#8217;s four legged pose.</p>
<p>The spine, shoulders and neck are strengthened by practicing this asana and the entire reproductive system is toned up. This asana is helpful not only before pregnancy but also after childbirth.</p>
<p>UTTHANASANA OR SQUATS</p>

<p>If you can perform fifty such squats every single day during your pre natal period, you will have a very short labor, followed by an easy delivery.</p>
<p>TITALI ASANA OR BUTTERFLY POSE</p>
<p>It is extremely beneficial during the pre natal stage and more so if you do it consistently from the first trimester itself. Opening up your hips and inner thighs and removing tension from the latter area are the aims of the titali asana. Your groin area and your knees will also be stretched. All these help to ease the pain of childbirth. People are into all sorts of natural childbirth options these days.</p>
<p>PADMASANA OR LOTUS POSE</p>
<p>In this you have to sit with folded legs, one leg crossing over the other and both ankles touching the pelvic bone on the opposite side. Rest the knuckles of your hands on your knees.</p>

<p>PAWANMUKTASANA OR AIR RELEASING POSE</p>
<p>Although this pose looks deceptively easy, it is in reality very difficult to perform accurately. By helping you to release all the accumulated air or gas inside your system, it will prevent flatulence and constipation. You can practice this asana before, after or in between other asana.</p>
<p>HALF SPINAL TWIST</p>
<p>This will strengthen the spine if done properly. This pose is good for the visceral organs like adrenal glands, kidneys and liver. This one is difficult and you will require the help of your yoga instructor.</p>
<p>SUKHASANA</p>
<p>It is perhaps one of the best exercises for elderly and infirm people. It involves a meditative pose. Follow up SHABASANA with SUKHASANA. It helps to straighten the spine. It will improve your metabolism, promote inner tranquility and calm down the mind and help it to relax.</p>
<p>SHABASANA</p>

<p>BHUJANGASANA</p>

<p>SUPINE BRIDGING</p>
<p>This will stretch the front thigh muscle and strengthen the core muscles. Coordinate this exercise with leg raises or heel raises. If you need support, you can choose to place a yoga block between your thighs.</p>
<p>RIB LIFT</p>
<p>The front muscles are stretched and the back muscles are strengthened. You may use support if you feel unsure.</p>
<p>SUPINE SHOULDER PRESS</p>
<p>This exercise should be coordinated with breathing. The front portion of the shoulder is stretched and the shoulder girdle is strengthened by performing this exercise. You can put a pillow under the elbows if you require support.</p>
<p>ADHO MUKHA SHVANASANA OR DOG POSE</p>

<p>KAPALABHATI</p>
<p>It will help to make your skull feel light. This breathing exercise will cleanse the sinuses and lungs. It is a type of PRANAYAMA where the breath will originate from the diaphragm. By freeing the nose, lungs and throat of excess mucus it cures sinus blockage and relieves the resultant pressure from the head.</p>
